…because of video archives of the works of Harvey Korman we will not be without his humor.  Harvey Korman died this week.

More than anything, it was the way he played off the other actors – Carol Burnett, Tim Conway and others… Just HIlarious!

This morning’s conversation over coffee was about the sketches we could think of at the time – but there are SO many – I hope you think of his work and smile.  Also, check out this one I found on the Interwebs.  This is one of the best…  enjoy…

Your Score: Big Bird

You scored 68% Organization, 41% abstract, and 74% extroverted!

This test measured 3 variables.

First, this test measured how organized you are. Some muppets like Cookie Monster make big messes, while others like Bert are quite anal about things being clean.

Second, this test measured if you prefer a concrete or an abstract viewpoint. For the purposes of this test, concrete people are considered to gravitate more to mathematical and logical approaches, whereas abstract people are more the dreamers and artistic type.

Third, this test measured if you are more of an introvert or an extrovert. By definition, an introvert concentrates more on herself and an extrovert focuses more on others. In this test an introvert was somebody that either tends to spend more time alone or thinks more about herself.

You are very organized, both concrete and abstract, and more extroverted.

Here is why are you Big Bird.

You are both very organized. You almost always know where your belongings are and you prefer things neat. You may even enjoy cleaning and find it therapeutic. Big Bird is never sloppy and always under control… pretty good for a 6 year old bird living without a family.

You both are sometimes concrete and sometimes abstract thinkers. Big Bird can be quite dreamy at times and has no problem using his imagination. At the same time he is also practical and can be methodical in his search for answers to questions. You have a good balance in your life. You know when to be logical at times, but you also aren’t afraid to explore your dreams and desires… within limits of course.

You are both extroverts. Big Bird gets along with everyone. He makes friends easily and always has a positive attitude. You definitely enjoy the company of others, and you don’t have problems meeting new people… in fact you probably look forward to it. You are willing to take charge when necessary or work as part of a team.

Taps

Day is done,
gone the sun,
From the hills,
from the lake,
From the skies.
All is well,
safely rest,
God is nigh.

Go to sleep,
peaceful sleep.
May the soldier
or sailor,
God keep.
On the land
or the deep,
Safe in sleep.

Love, good night,
Must thou go,
When the day,
And the night
Need thee so?
All is well.
Speedeth all
To their rest.

A memorial to some of the Holocaust victims in Budapest, Hungry…

“The composition entitled ‘Shoes on the Danube Bank’ gives remembrance to the people shot into the Danube during the time of the Arrow Cross terror. The sculptor created sixty pairs of period-appropriate shoes out of iron. The shoes are attached to the stone embankment, and behind them lies a 40 meter long, 70 cm high stone bench. At three points are cast iron signs, with the following text in Hungarian, English, and Hebrew: “To the memory of the victims shot into the Danube by Arrow Cross militiamen in 1944-45. Erected 16 April 2005.” (source: MTI, Saturday, April 16, 2005.)

…that’s today!  I was lucky enough to spend it with my best-est friends at a neighborhood Mexican restaurant.

Years ago my Dad told me that he was very happy to see that I have a group of wonderful friends here – and he was right then and is still right today!

God has blessed me in my life more times than I can count – and tonight was one of those blessings!

Thank you God, thank you friends!  YAY!  It’s my birthday, and it was a great day.

Yup, I’m going again this year.  I enjoy it and it’s a short break from the real world.  Countdown begins.  YAY!

It’s the 20th Anniversary of the founding of Stampin’ UP!  It should be a fun Convention!  Salt Lake City here we come!

Well, it’s not the Kardashians but I think it’s even more of a train wreck!

“Seven self proclaimed bad girls” move in to a house in LA…  to…  what?!?!  see who survives?  who comes out alive?  not sure – - but, I’m still watching!  Look away!

Well, the show is over – but now the “Reunion Show” is on – hosted by Star Jones?!?!?!  What!  OMG!  Turn off the TV!!  <sigh>  Look away!

Must. Get. Back. To. Home improvement shows.  At least watching those I learn something…  and I can’t actually feel my brain cell dying off one at a time…  <BIG SIGH>  Look away!

This is how I feel today…

1) Favorite Destination — someplace you’ve visited once or often and would gladly go again

Seattle

2) Unfavorite Destination — someplace you wish you had never been (and why)

Driving along Rte 95 in SC on a Sunday because we couldn’t get a glass of wine with dinner (most of SC is dry and alcohol is not sold on Sunday)!

3) Fantasy Destination — someplace to visit if cost and/or time did not matter

Antarctica

4) Fictional Destination — someplace from a book or movie or other art or media form you would love to visit, although it exists only in imagination

“300 miles north of everywhere” – fans of “The Cat Who…” books will understand – life in the slow lane.

5) Funny Destination — the funniest place name you’ve ever visited or want to visit

Intercourse, PA (especially funny to the 14 year old mind)
