Do you know how good they taste? and how good they are for you?!?!?  I’ve just learned this lesson.  I’ve been enjoying them in my Chipotle Burrito Bol.  I’ve enjoyed them on lunches at the caf at work – Heidi forgot and threw some on my salad and when she remembered she was going to make me a new dish.  I told her I’ve been eating them and I haven’t died yet so they could stay!

Tonight I tried something new – I prepared them at home!  I know!  I cooked a fab din and made rice – which I love.  I thought some black beans would taste good with the rice, and I’d bought a can a week ago hoping I’d figure out what to do with them.  So I opened the can, drained and rinsed them and put them in a plastic container in the fridge.  When I was ready to eat din I put about half a cup of beans in a pan with a little water and a little white wine – the chicken had white wine and the rice had a bit of wine too – so this was just carrying the flavors through the meal.

Once hot, I put them on the rice and topped with the sauce from the chicken – - wicked yum!

So, just thought I’d let you know that you should try black beans!  They are good tasting and good for you!
