Today or Tomorrow

I’m still working from Thursday, so while this post will have Friday’s date it is really for Thursday. Annual push of software to a client portal has taken much longer than it normally does. I got a 2.5 hour nap but certainly need more sleep. 3:20AM ET, 4:20PM Singapore and something like 1:50PM in India. Too much for my brain to handle at this hour. So, is it today or tomorrow?

Listening to SSJE Love Life series – what is the new word? What is the new word of Christ in the modern world? Is there a new word or is the word we’ve heard for these two millennia the real thing? the only thing? Does there need to be a new word? The world changes, people change – does the word need to change? Does the love of Christ in our lives change over time? Wow, lots of questions.

I don’t think the love of Christ changes, we change, our individual needs and relationship with Christ changes but the love of Christ being and working in our lives, doesn’t change. I think the word is the same; it is ever more important and needs to be heard by so many more people. Social media has brought the brokenness and triumphs of mankind into our homes. We see moment by moment how people are hurting and excelling. It can overwhelm the senses. Christ has enough love for the world and it seems, at times, the world needs it more today than ever but I don’t think the word has changed.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.” John 1:1-5
